Introduction

STAGE NFT Community platform docs

STAGE is a marketing place for buying, trading and learning skills.

NFTs for education: A platform that lets anyone create, mint, sell and trade NFTs that give access to a community platform with tools to encourage learning and connection.

What is STAGE?

Stage is the first NFT gated online course platform that is based on the Ethereum + Solana network.

Creators and community hosts can use STAGE to mint NFTs that act as access passes into their online community.

Users have the tools to create and host online courses, create FAQ databases of knowledge, search members, create calendar events + RSVPs and a leaderboard that automatically tracks each users participation and skills learned within a community.

What is the point of Stage?

Our goal is to build a better blockchain based education system to replace current college degrees and stand alone online courses that exist on platforms like Kajabi or Udemy.

In the short term, STAGE is a good addition to any NFT community as it provides a central hub for information that is more organized than a Discord server. Community members need more than just a chat filled with 10,000 people. Members need a way to truly connect, learn, share, create and grow within a community.

In the long term, users can create virtual resumes that track all communities, courses, events and skills learned in the form of NFT certificates that allow people to get hired based on what NFTs they hold. As a user learns, they earn NFTs that will display the knowledge someone has acquired and can then easily be hired within the platform to provide that new skill to someone else's business.

STAGE founders believe deeply that anything is learnable and all skills can be acquired as long as you have the right instructions and steps in place to guide someone from A to B.

How does it work for NFT holders?

Before a user even buys an NFT, they can see the whole communities platform- including the courses available, the teachers, the other members and a calendar view of all events that are coming over the next month. This way users can see all of the value that the NFT provides them and the real utility they get.

If a potential member wants to watch a video or attend an event, they are prompted to buy an NFT to get access. Users can buy an NFT by connecting their Metamask wallet to the platform and then have the option to use ETH or checkout with a credit card to purchase.

If a user decides to checkout with a credit card, they will get immediate access to use the NFT as access into the platform to start watching and learning, but they will not have access to sell or trade their NFT for a 60 day waiting period to make sure the user does not request a refund and scam the system.

Learn to Earn Model

The biggest problem in online education is the terrible completion rates of students. We have found that on average less than 15% of students who buy a course actual complete it. Why? Because students and people in general need a reward to get motivated. In the traditional education system, that reward came in the form of good grades, a degree and a promised job opportunity at the end.

Stage is replicating that reward system by using a learn to earn model that mints NFTs as users participate and learn new skills. As an example, when a user completes a course they receive a NFT that acts as a certificate of completion. Or when a user attends a particular online events/workshop they are minted an NFT of attendance.

As these NFTs are minted, users accumulate a virtual resume inside the platform that allows them to showcase what they learned, who they learned from, how much money they spent on their learning and what communities they are apart of. From here, businesses and future employers have a good way to view the skillset and work ethic of a potential hire.

Who created stage?

Stage was created by Ricki Bodner who has launched over 40 courses in the past 3 years and has generated over 10 million in sales from them. He teamed up with a developer who has designed and built the entire platform himself using web3 blockchain integrations. Alexis Ren is onboard as the marketing manager of the platform to increase visibility and give a nice face to the company- while also using her expansive knowledge on social media to create the features necessary fo users to thrive.

What is the future of stage?

The roadmap for STAGE is focused on creating new features that allow education to be consumed better through the use of gamification. We plan to expand the point system to be backed by a coin that translates to real dollars and value.

Right now our point system is based entirely on platform triggers like completing courses and attending virtual events. In the future, we will allow off-chain events like attending real college classes or consuming audio books that allows NFTs to be minted and displayed in their profiles.

After that, we plan to release a marketplace and job bulletin across the whole platform so members can easily find jobs based on the skills they just learned.

The goal is to provide the virtual resume of the Metaverse and make it easier, cheaper and more efficient for people all over the world to learn new skills and get hired right away from those skills.
